5G network has a big influence on the mobile technology of the whole world, including Croatia. It is the latest generation of mobile communication systems that offers various possibilities such as connecting smart devices almost anywhere, better and faster „surfing“ the Internet, and has improved communication and the exchange of various contents via mobile devices. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the generations of mobile communication systems and then to describe in more detail the development of the fifth, i.e. the latest generation of mobile communication systems and to present the current state of development of 5G in the Republic of Croatia. In order to know how 5G works, we need to know the very architecture of 5G mobile communication systems, the mode of operation and the advantages and disadvantages of the same, as well as the statistics of the experience of using 5G mobile communication systems. After a more detailed look at 5G, you can see the telecom operators, the development of the economy and the advantages of using the latest generation of mobile communication systems (5G) in the Republic of Croatia.
